Max Bradley, George Nowland & Dennis Conway covered some 21 miles from Lancaster to Woodplumpton in under 7 hours on the 29th September, 2001. The three men in their Canadian Open Style Canoe ably assisted by Jason Carter on a Mountain Bike collected along the way and raised over £170 with other sponsorship and donations the even raised £773.99 for the fund.

In the meantime..

Thank you to everyone who supported the event on the day and made it such a success.  Especially:-

Maggie at Moons Cottage for storing the Canoe there during training sessions.

The Jacksons at the Moons Marina for providing us with car parking at the finish.

British Waterways for supporting the event by supplying us with Licenses during training and on the day.

Mike and Sandy Brooks for transporting the canoe to and from the start & finish

Val Nowland, Elle Conway and myself for providing support and food to the team

Jill Winter at Harmonious Healthcare for making sure Max’s wrist and shoulder was up to the 21 miles (injured during training)

The Priory, Scorton for the food and refreshments after the event and skin suits for the canoeists to wear

Galgate Canal side Cafe & Craft Shop for allowing us to collect there

Olde Tithe barn - Garstang for allowing us to collect there

Owd Nells - Bilsborrow for allowing us to collect there
