The Landlord & Landlady, Terry &
Alice Whalley of the Brownhill Arms in Blackburn organised a Firework Display on Sunday, 4th November, 2001 at the pub.
The Firework Display started at 7.30pm
With food provided by Terry & Alice
Whalley. Hotpot all the trimmings and parkin went down well on the evening!
Penny Lewis at the time of this event was
undergoing treatment for Breast Cancer and was pictured below with her son Bradley in 2001.
Penny organised the raffle for the evening, with all prizes being donated by local businesses, Brownhill Arms, Family & Friends. Sadly, Penny passed away in May, 2004 after undergoing many months of treatment.
There are still a few prizes which haven’t been claimed.

Thanks to all of Penny’s Family, Friends and Locals at the
pub for raising £440 the proceeds of which are being donated to the G.HARRISON (Breast Cancer Care Fund)
Thanks to everyone at the Brownhill for making the evening
such a success and especially to Terry and Alice for hosting the event.
In addition to this £290 was raised in December by friends
of Penny’s Mum - Sally. The evening was hosted by Shirley and Roy, Landlady & Landlord of the Hole-ith-Wall pub in Blackburn along with the Dominoe Girls, Harry and all customers and friends.
