On the 3rd October, 2001 Val Nowland swam 21 widths of the Otters Pool in Preston along with Madeleine Harrison (Raised £50) and Merrill Tomlinson(Raised £125). All of the ladies have recently learnt to swim and collectively have raised £1,272 for the fund. Many thanks to all the ladies who took part and especially Val for all her hard work collecting sponsorship, planning the event then doing the hard work and swimming the 21 widths as well!
